Chief Referee moves with the flow of the fight
Chief Referee starts/stops fights, gives points & warnings
If an exchange occurs, Chief Referee will stop the bout, at least 2/3 referees must agree what and if the strike landed and agree the points to be awarded. If 2/3 referess agree points have been scored, the Chief Referee then awards the point/s. Only the Chief Referee can award points scored.
Old School Mirror Style:
1 Chief Reree + 1 Mirror Referee
Both referee move around with the flow of the fight, keeping both fighters inbetween their line of vision. If an exchange occurs, Chief Referee will stop the bout, both referees must agree what and if the strike landed and agree the points to be awarded. If both referess agree points have been scored, the Chief Referee then awards the point/s. Only the Chief Referee can award points scored.
Coaches must stay seated (may signal "T" for time)
Ref can stop fight for warnings, penalties, or safety checks
3 warnings for leaving the area = point deduction
4 times = disqualification
Only referee, doctor, or president can stop the fight
10-point lead ends fight by TKO
Scoring Techniques for all styles:
-
Punch to body/head = 1 Point
-
Sweep + strike (in 3 sec) = 2 Points
-
Body kick = 2 Points
-
Jump body kick = 3 Points
-
Head kick = 3 Points
-
Jump head kick = 5 Points
Scoring Requires:
To award any of the above scoring values, at least two of the three judges (a majority) must agree that the technique has scored.
If judges agree that a competitor has landed a scoring technique but disagree on whether it was a punch or a kick, the competitor will still be awarded points. In such cases, the lower of the two possible scoring values will be awarded, as the type of technique cannot be confirmed with certainty.
This ensures the benefit of the successful attack is recognised while maintaining fairness and consistency in scoring.
